Wood Turning – Intro to Spindle Turning – Saturday
If you have been looking to start your Wood Turning journey, look no further.This 6 hour workshop has a specific focus and is designed to serve as an introduction and provide you with a strong foundation in Spindle Turning.
Tutor, Rita, will teach you foundational wood turning skills and during this guided session you will form a series of spindle shapes.
Rita will take you through the basics, explaining safe practice, before you move to the lathe and get turning.
If you're looking to expand your wood turning skills, this is your opportunity to learn.
It is preferable to have some wood turning experience to take this workshop - if you have none, our Benchspace Bites Wood Turning class is an ideal starting point.Materials are included in the cost of the class and all tools are provided.
We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (Adult 18+) are welcome, however, please note that this class requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow precise instructions with regards to safety.Here's what you'll Learn:

Techniques for using wood turning tools.
Learn about wood turning tools and their uses.
Gain familiarity with the lathe to learn its capabilities.
Specific instruction on spindle forming.

This class is held in our BS2.0 unit. Eircode is currently pending - the unit is located NEXT DOOR to The Circus Factory at Eircode T12 X856.
Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors. Prepare to be covered in wood shavings! If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring them.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed. All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
