All of our classes & courses are maker led and taught by experienced craftspeople. Come by yourself, with a friend or book a private event (for larger groups). Our class size remains small so each student gets one on one time with the tutor through the class.

We offer three types of classes at benchspace.
Looking to dip your toe in and get a taste of Making or find a new hobby? Then our bite size one day classes are just what you’re looking for!
For makers who are looking to learn a new skill or master a creative technique. Also suitable for people looking to start a new hobby. Find Courses from Wood to Laser Cutting.
For makers who require safety certification prior to using a workshop. Get signed off of machinery you want access to.
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors.
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed.
Please note that all workshop sessions begin on time. Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled workshop start time. Late arrival for classes that include safety certification may result in you not being able to complete the safety certification.
If you cancel your class booking at least 14 days in advance of the class, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 5 – 13 days of the class will incur a 50% fee. Cancellations made less than 5 days before the class date will not be refunded. Class no-shows also cannot be refunded.
Some of our classes require a minimum number of participants to run. We will notify you 48 hours before the class if enrolment does not reach this minimum. We will attempt to reschedule all cancelled classes. If you cannot attend the rescheduled class, you will be issued a full refund.
We have maker scholarships and enterprise programmes available to help with the costs of training classes.
Contact us to find out if you qualify for one of these.
