Whether a hobbyist, enthusiast or exploring a career in jewellery, we will explore fundamental jewellery making skills and at the end of your workshop you will take home a pair of sterling silver earrings designed by and unique to you.
Choose your style between studs or drops, decide on your pattern/finish, and we will take you through this exciting process step by step.
Materials are included in the cost of the workshop and no experience is necessary.
All skill levels (18+) are welcome.Here's what you’ll Learn:
How to use a piercing saw.
How to anneal silver.
How to use the pickle bath.
How to solder silver.
How to add texture using hammers and metal stamps.
How to form and manipulate metal using a doming block and dappers.
How to create contrast finishes using silver oxidising liquid.
How to sand and finish edges.
How to use the pendant drill.
How to finish and polish your final piece.
Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors. If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring them.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed. All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
