Make a Sterling Silver Hammered Ring – Saturday Afternoon
benchspace Bites are introductory hands-on sessions designed to give beginners a taste of our craft disciplines.
Whether a hobbyist, enthusiast or considering a career in jewellery-making, we will explore fundamental skills and you will create your very own piece in a single class.
Spend a creative Saturday afternoon with tutor Nadine and learn to make your own sterling silver ring in this 3-hour jewellery-making class.
Start by exploring a selection of sample designs for inspiration, then practice your pattern on copper before moving on to silver. You'll choose between crafting a chunky 6mm band or two slimmer 3mm stacking bands, find your finger size, and get started.
Nadine will guide you step by step through shaping, texturing, and finishing your design - leaving you with a beautifully handcrafted piece to take home.
Materials are included in the cost of the workshop and no experience is necessary.We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (Adult 18+) are welcome, however, please note that this course requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow precise instructions with regards to safety.

How to use the pickle bath.
How to solder silver.
How to add texture using hammers and metal stamps.
How to sand and finish edges.
How to finish and polish your final piece.

Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors. If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring them.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
