Design & Make II Sterling Silver Jewellery – 10 Week Course – Jan 2025
Have you completed an introductory jewellery course like our Design + Make I course?
Do you want to dive deeper into jewellery design and build on the skills you learned? Do you want to refresh existing skills? Then this is the course for you!
Design & Make II gives you the opportunity to explore the skills you've learned to bring your jewellery designs to the next level.
Join us on Wednesday evenings with tutor Nadine to explore different design elements and develop your technical skills through two mini projects, then create a final piece of jewellery completely designed by you.
Price includes use of tools, base materials and an allocation of sterling silver and copper for your pieces.
Previous experience in jewellery making is ideal but not essential.
We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (Adult 18+) are welcome, however, please note that this course requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow precise instructions with regards to safety.
Here's what you’ll learn:
How to complete T-bars and hinges.
How to use the PUK Welder.
How to further develop the process of building design elements through sketchbook work and sourcing imagery.
How to progress your skills in wire forming, sawing, doming and forming metal.
How to expand you skills with anneal, solder and rivet.
How to build on skills texturing metal using hammers and rolling mill.
Where to Go:
This class is held in our B1b unit located at Eircode T12 KRH7.
Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors. If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring them.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed. All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
