Following on from this current Artist in Residence Adrien Segal is holding a Spoon Carving Masterclass on August 10th.

August 31st we’ll be moving offsite to Mark Donnellys workshop on the edge of the city for a weekend long Green Woodworking course (Postponed until Sept 21st/22nd)

We’ll be holding out annual exhibition / summer social on August 24th and also on August 31st we’ll be holding a Benchspace Bites: Live Edge Clock class for those among you who want to try woodworking but aren’t quite ready to commit to a weekend/night course.

We are also pleased to announce the Dearcán Bursary. Cork County Council Arts Service and South Cork Local Enterprise Office in conjunction with Benchspace Cork are offering a bursary to any craft maker, artist or designer currently resident in County Cork working in the medium of wood, or wood in combination with other materials. The bursary will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to make a significant step forward in their professional career, whether they be recent graduate, new start-up or seasoned professional. To facilitate this, it will support a twelve month period in the Benchspace workshop in Cork City to include workshop fees, a living allowance and an allowance towards locally sourced materials.
