Discussing “DIGITAL FABRICATION TOOLS: your workshop assistant.”  Specifically the workshops will focus on the uses of laser cutting and 3D printing machines in maker practices.

benchspace is a not for profit, social enterprise, established by makers for makers, from learner to professional. It has a voluntary board, a management team and members who avail of the open access, shared space and equipment. benchspace also engages in training and contract work, and advocates for making-based enterprises and product design across Ireland. Any surplus from its activities are reinvested within the organisation for the growth and improvement of its services to makers.

Beginning at 2pm on Thursday 17th November Paul McKenna will demonstrate the different design techniques used in making his art work, specifically, looking at processes used in laser cutting as part of this.

At 4:30pm on the same afternoon, Aleksandra Kowalczyk will demonstrate a variety of ways in which she uses the laser cutting machine in her design process.

Thursday’s events will conclude with Aidan Killeen & Gerry Mouzakitis’ latest Benchtalk event kicking off at 7pm. This will include conversations and demonstrations with Cian Martin and Mark Hogan including demonstrations on MSLA 3D printing and generational algorithms in Rhino 3d CAD package.
