Ahead of our autumn night class programme, we are holding an Open Day in Benchspace for anyone curious about what we do, or interested to get involved. Our teachers and makers will be on hand to answer questions. All are welcome, hope to see you there.
Adrien will give a Final Presentation on 24th August and Exhibit her work in Benchspace. All welcome to join in the discussion
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet 2019 Benchspace Artist-in-Residence Adrien Segal, a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Oakland, CA. A data-artist, who turns information into three-dimensional sculptures. Adrien’s work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums.
Adrien’s degree is in Furniture Design from the California College of the Arts, where she focused on the principles of design and fabrication of furniture and sculpture, including woodworking, metalworking, welding, and casting. She also worked with nonfunctional forms and began using data in her work. Data remains an integral part of her work, She aims to unearth and reveal a “story” from swathes of data already available on a particular subject.
