New Dates: 7pm – 9:30pm, 3 October – 5 December
Teacher: Anthony Aylward
Suitable for those familiar with the basic techniques* of woodworking, this class introduces carcass construction which is the basis of box, cabinet, shelves and drawer making.
Students will start by learning a series of board joints using hand tools such as cutting gauge, saw, chisels and hand planes. They will then move on to a project, a small set of shelves in hardwood, to include surface preparation, assembly and finishing.
Over the ten evenings, you will learn how to use and maintain various hand tools, safe ways of working, intermediate box joinery and come away with your own piece, and a new confidence in woodworking!
*It is recommended that learners complete our level 1 or comparable woodwork project before undertaking this course.
