Skill Builder – Intro to Bowl Turning – Saturday – CRAFT MONTH
August Craft Month shines a spotlight on Ireland’s thriving craft scene and provides unique opportunities for people to make, see, learn about, and buy craft. Whether you’re curious to learn, eager to create, or looking to discover something handmade and meaningful, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Skill Builders are in-depth, hands-on courses designed for those ready to dive deeper into a specific craft discipline. Whether you’re developing your skills for personal practice or working toward becoming a Benchspace Maker, these courses and workshops focus on building confidence, technique, and creative independence through guided, project-based learning.
Take Your Woodturning Further: Master the Art of Bowl Turning
This developmental workshop is perfect for woodturners ready to build on their existing skills and take their craft to the next level. Guided by experienced tutor Tony Farrell, you’ll spend five focused hours diving deep into the art of bowl turning.
Tony will cover advanced techniques, tool control, and safe workshop practice, helping you gain confidence and refine your approach at the lathe. Working hands-on, you’ll shape, hollow, and finish your very own wooden bowl – a beautiful piece to take home and a proud reminder of your growing skills.
