Infuse colour into the creative world of silver jewellery making in this 10-week course guided by jewellery tutor Fabio Oliveira.
Students will develop essential skills like metal forming and soldering in combination with patina, oxidization and basic stone setting. This will bring vibrancy, contrasting palettes and layers of artistic expression to each piece of jewellery.
A series of projects including earrings, ring and pendant making will provide several opportunities to explore technical skills, artistry and designing to create a diverse collection of handmade jewellery. The course goes beyond technical skills and delves into colour theory as well.
You will learn:

Metal forming and soldering.

Basic stone setting.

Hand-painted and dipped oxidization techniques.

Keum-Boo, the traditional Korean gilding method where 24k gold foil is bonded to to sterling silver.
Things to Remember:
All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
Wear shoes with a covered toe.
If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring those.
Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair and don’t wear your best clothes.
