Maker Break – Intro to Lino Print – Saturday – CRAFT MONTH
August Craft Month shines a spotlight on Ireland’s thriving craft scene and provides unique opportunities for people to learn about, make, see, and buy craft. Whether you’re curious to learn, eager to create, or looking to discover something handmade and meaningful, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Maker Breaks are creative outlets – single, guided sessions designed to nourish your artistic side. These focused sessions allow you to experiment, make, explore a new medium, let go of the noise, and connect with the joy of crafting something by hand.
Carve, Ink, Print – Create Your Own Linocut Artwork
Join tutor Arthur for a creative three-hour introduction to linocut printing—one of the oldest forms of printmaking. You’ll begin with a short look into the history of the technique, gaining insight into its roots and how it has evolved into a popular artistic medium.
You’ll start with some sketching – bring an idea or find inspiration on the day – and turn it into a bold, graphic composition. Arthur will guide you step-by-step through the process and by the end of the session, you’ll have printed five unique A4 copies of your artwork on high-quality cotton paper, ready to take home and enjoy.
