Design+Make I Jewellery Course – Sept 2025

Ever Dreamed of Making Your Own Jewellery?
Now’s your chance!  Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some jewellery-making experience, our 10-week Design + Make I course is the perfect place to build your skills and confidence.

Join tutor Nadine and learn how to design and create your own unique sterling silver jewellery.  You’ll start by exploring sources of inspiration and developing your ideas in a sketchbook. and from there, you’ll progress through four mini projects: texture sampling, ring making, rivet and sweat soldering, wire-formed earrings.  With these skills under your belt, you’ll design and make a final piece entirely your own, using sterling silver.

Who can Join:  This is a Beginner-Level Course, suitable for adults aged 18+ of all skill levels.  Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow safety instructions are essential.

What’s Included:

• • Base materials and a sterling silver allowance for your projects
  • Step-by-step instruction on safe equipment use
  • Individual support and feedback

What you’ll Learn:

• • Develop and refine jewellery designs
  • Use a piercing saw
  • Form and dome metal
  • Anneal silver and use a pickle bath
  • Solder and rivet silver
  • Texture metal using hammers, stamps, and a rolling mill
  • Sand, finish, and polish your pieces

Where to Go:  This class is held in our BS1.5 workshop located at Eircode T12 KRH7.

What to Wear:  Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair.  Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors.  If you need glasses for close up work, don’t forget to bring them.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  PPE will be provided for all courses that require it.  It must be worn as directed.  All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
