August Craft Month shines a spotlight on Ireland’s thriving craft scene and provides unique opportunities for people to make, see, learn about, and buy craft.  Whether you’re curious to learn, eager to create, or looking to discover something handmade and meaningful, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Benchspace Bites are fun, hands-on introductory sessions designed for beginners to explore a craft for the first time.  In just one class, you’ll learn fundamental techniques and create your very own piece — perfect for hobbyists, curious creatives, or anyone considering a future in making.

Sharpen Your Skills
This skill focused 2-hour session is perfect for confident beginners, novices, or seasoned turners looking to sharpen their fine-detail skills.  Guided by tutor Marea, you’ll learn the fundamentals of turning delicate forms on the lathe while creating your own handcrafted honey dipper.  It’s a great way to build core techniques, boost your confidence, and leave with a finished piece that’s both functional and beautifully made.

Who can Join:  This is a Confident Beginner-Level class, suitable for Adults 18+.  Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow safety instructions are essential.

What to Wear:  Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair.  Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors.  If you need glasses for close up work, don’t forget to bring them.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  PPE will be provided for all courses that require it.  It must be worn as directed.  All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
