benchspace Bites – Serving Board – Jul 2025

benchspace Bites are introductory, hands-on sessions designed to give beginners a taste of our craft disciplines.
Whether a hobbyist, enthusiast or considering a career in woodwork, we will explore fundamental skills and you will create your very own piece in a single class.

Curious about woodworking but not sure where to begin? Spend your Saturday morning with woodwork tutor David in this hands-on session.
You’ll be introduced to foundational woodwork skills as you craft your own serving board from locally sourced Irish hardwood. This beginner-friendly guided class is the perfect way to explore the tools and techniques and is a great introduction to working with wood - building skills, confidence, and a finished piece to take home.

Materials are included in the cost of the workshop and no experience is necessary.
We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (18+) are welcome, however, please note that this course requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow precise instructions with regards to safety.

• Sanding

• Shaping

• Drilling

• Finishing

• Observe routering

Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed.
