Benchspace Bite – Make a Leather Cardholder – Saturday

Benchspace Bites are fun, hands-on introductory sessions designed for beginners to explore a craft for the first time.  In a supportive setting you’ll learn fundamental techniques – perfect for hobbyists, curious creatives, or anyone considering a future in making.

An Introduction to Leathercraft
Join tutor Bart for a 3-hour craft session, where you’ll learn the basics of working with leather while making your very own cardholder.

You’ll begin by learning how to position and score a pattern onto leather, before getting to grips with essential cutting techniques.  Once your pieces are ready, you’ll add some surface design with stamp imprinting to add detail and character to your leather, before learning how to form stitch holes in preparation for assembly.
Throughout the session, Bart will guide you step-by-step through the process and you’ll leave with a solid understanding of fundamental leatherworking techniques, and a beautifully finished leather cardholder that you made yourself.
