benchspace Bite – Make a Hollow Form Ort Bowl – Wednesday Evening
Benchspace Bites are fun, hands-on introductory sessions designed for beginners to explore a craft for the first time. In just one class, you’ll learn fundamental techniques and create your very own piece — perfect for hobbyists, curious creatives, or anyone considering a future in making.

Sharpen Your Skills
This skill focused 2-hour session is perfect for confident beginners, novices, or seasoned turners looking to sharpen their fine-detail skills. Guided by tutor Jerry, you’ll learn the fundamentals of turning hollow forms on the lathe while creating your own handcrafted ort bowl – a small semi-enclosed decorative bowl traditionally used to hold scraps or small items. It’s a great way to build core techniques, boost your confidence, and leave with a finished piece that’s both functional and beautifully made.
Our woodturning Bites classes are a small-group format, limited to just 4 participants, to ensure plenty of personalised support from your tutor.
