Open Source PPE Project Report

Open Source PPE Project Report

March this year was a month that changed everything for many people, as the seriousness of the impending Covid 19 pandemic started to take hold and businesses around the world began to close, benchspace partnered with local industry and community groups to find solutions for gaps in the supply of PPE.

We began our PPE project with just 4 people, it expanded to include 100’s from across the nation.

Together these Open Source PPE volunteers built a nationwide manufacturing network, established three central assembly hubs, and in just seven weeks, produced over 50,000 face shields for frontline healthcare workers in COVID-19 test centres, community assessment hubs and nursing homes.

To celebrate the contribution of these volunteers and mark the completion of the Open Source PPE project we have published a short report. You can download it here.
