Training Update: Summer Classes

Selection of tools used in benchspace training classes

We’re gearing up for a summer of learning at benchspace.

Starting this April we have a full programme of classes, workshops and special events.

Benchspace Bites are back in full force on April 6th with 3 classes over the summer where you can make your very own piece in a single class, even if you have no previous woodworking experience. Over the summer we’ll make a Desk Organiser (July 6th), a Live Edge Clock (May 4th) and the Rustic Coat Rack (June 1st). We’d advise booking quickly as these classes fill quickly.

Evening Courses will run again over the summer but will be extended by two weeks to allow people to miss a few weeks for holidays, The following sell out classes will return.

  • June 11th –  Frame Joinery (Beginner Level)
  • May 8th –  Box Joinery & Construction (Intermediate)
  • June 3rd – Machine Skills & Safety (Advanced)

We are also pleased to announce a new course this summer for those who are interested in practical aspects of Woodwork. Introduction of Practical Woodwork will start on May 31st and will focus on  Practical carpentry skills using traditional hand tools. This course will benefit the complete beginner as well as those looking to learn some tips and tricks to make their work quicker and neater.

Other changes in the workshop include our recently launched “Open Making Sessions” on Saturday mornings which allow you to rent a bench for the morning for €10 and work on your own project, we’ll be there to give you a little advice and guidance if needed.

All of the above and much more can be found on our newly launched Calendar. We hope to see you in the workshop soon.
