Benchspace Bite – DIY-101 Workshop – Saturday

Benchspace Bites are fun, hands-on introductory sessions designed for beginners to explore a craft for the first time.  In just one class, you’ll learn fundamental techniques and create your very own piece — perfect for hobbyists, curious creatives, or anyone considering a future in making.

DIY Essentials: Demystify the Drill & Hang a Shelf
Spend your Saturday with us in this 1-day beginner-friendly workshop that combines our most popular DIY skills into one hands-on session.  With expert guidance from tutor Elaine, you’ll learn how to handle a drill safely and confidently – the most common but often misunderstood power tool.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll put your new skills to the test by learning how to hang a shelf step by step.  Working in small groups, you’ll practice choosing the right fixings, marking and drilling accurately, and troubleshooting along the way.  Build your confidence, avoid common mistakes, and leave ready to tackle DIY projects at home!
