benchspace Bites are our introductory sessions for beginners where you can make your very own piece in a single class.
This is a 1.5 hour class in which you get to kick back and let your creativity run free as you chose and combine yarn of your choice to put your own stamp on your unique lampshade.
After choosing your pre-cut Shady.ie lampshade frame from a selection of two shapes, tutor Ali will guide you through weaving your laser cut lampshade frame with different patterns to achieve different results and at the end you will take home your own hand-woven individual lampshade.
If you have particular yarn you would like to use for your lampshade, please feel free to bring it along!Materials are included in the cost of the workshop and no experience is necessary.
We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (Adult 18+) are welcome, however, please note that this course requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow precise instructions with regards to safety.

Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors. If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring them.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed. All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
