Design & Make I Sterling Silver Jewellery – 10 Week Course – Sept 2024

Have you ever dreamed of making your own jewellery designs and wish to learn how? Well now you can!

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some prior jewellery-making experience and are looking to develop your skills - join us on our 10 week Design & Make I Course and spend your Wednesday evenings with tutor Nadine learning how to create your own unique sterling silver jewellery.

We will begin by finding your source inspiration, and then move to developing your ideas with a sketchbook.  You will explore different design elements and learn technical skills through four mini projects, and then create a final piece of sterling silver jewellery which will be completely designed and made by you!


Price includes use of tools, base materials and an allocation of sterling silver for your pieces.
No experience is necessary.
We are fully inclusive and all skill levels (Adults 18+) are welcome, however, please note that this course requires hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow precise instructions with regards to safety.

Here's what you’ll learn:

• • How to develop designs.

  • How to use a piercing saw.

  • How to form metal wire.

  • How to dome and form metal.

  • How to anneal silver.

  • How to use the pickle bath.

  • How to solder and rivet silver.

  • How to texture metal using hammers, metal stamps and a rolling mill.

  • How to sand and finish edges.

  • How to finish and polish your pieces.

Where to Go:
This class is held in our B1b unit located at Eircode T12 KRH7.

Here's what to Wear:
Avoid wearing loose clothing and jewellery and don’t forget to tie back long hair. Closed toe shoes are required on all of our workshop floors. If you need glasses for close up work, don't forget to bring them.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE will be provided by benchspace for all courses that require it. It must be worn as directed. All specialist equipment and materials will be provided.
